Smitty's ESH: Gratitude, I am dancing inside

I am grateful for life.

I am grateful to have pain as a teacher.

I am grateful my emotions are a teacher and sure as heck I don't want to misuse them by trying to make them do anything but what they do.

I am grateful to have choices in how I respond to and use the information I get from my emotional body.

I am very grateful for a spiritual journey that is always reaffirmed when I do my yoga practice.

I find that when I move my body it is much more easy for me to move. I feel more joy and less pain. I feel my heart and my soul and my connection with my higher power, when I move my body round. When I dance especially, my soul really gets to move.
My power is returning, as I dance through my life ~ Smitty

"We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time." T.S. Eliot

  1. The Eliot quote is great. Just to answer a few questions that you have raised:
Triple dipping is the same person sharing 3 times in a meeting and not allowing others to share
Cross talk is carrying on a conversation back and forth with another group member.
In our meetings, the chair is supposed to hold the meeting together and basically know the traditions and keep to them. At the meeting I left, the chairperson was chairing for the first time and let the meeting get out of control. I had spoken up once during the meeting about cross talk. So when I found that I wasn't getting what I needed out of the meeting, then I left about ten minutes before the hour was up.
I am a believer in the traditions. And in staying with a meeting format that allows each in the room to share if they so wish. Pauses between shares are a time for quiet meditation. JMO.

  2. Thanks Syd. Triple dipping sounds excessive. I understand how it can be rough for a first time meeting chair, too. At my meeting last night, there were four of us who got to share three times each, two who shared twice and two did not share at all. I did pause after most folks had shared once and looked at the two who were choosing to be still, and they did not speak up. So, I believe they had a choice. Thanks for giving me a reality check!

I welcome your thoughts. Keep me honest~
