Those who relapse are attending the graduate school of Powerlessness
Do you agree with the anonymous quote in today's subject line? Or do you find the following quote to be more in keeping with your program experience?
"People who relapse usually do so because they accepted the things they could have changed. "
Izzy, Thanks for stopping by to share your perspective! I too like the first one; it feels less judgmental to me, and these days I am practicing to be less judgmental.
I am a member of Emotions Anonymous, which adapts AA's 12 steps for recovery from alcoholism, to recovery from emotional illness. Sojourning in Al-anon, a program for family members of recovering alcoholics, has helped me in dealing with my family, which was impacted by borderline personality disorder. Feel free to read!

ReplyDeleteI don't think I have fully surrendered and am still thinking I can run other people. I would then be thinking that my power is stronger than God's.
