Drawing on Words from the Program

(Inspired by March 8th's reading in Courage to Change)

Why do I go to meetings still, after so many years?  For one, I am always hearing about new ways to bring the program into my life.  One of my favorite meeting leaders has suggested passing around a basket full of Step questions or Slogans and asking members to share on the one they pick out at random from the basket. Wouldn’t it be interesting to see how many of us got the perfect reading?

When I find myself in a stressful situation, or trying to solve a tough problem, let me ask my Higher Power for help, and “draw from” a basket of program possibilities, for guidance.  I can use my power of imagination to reach into that basket and see what comes up as an answer.

Of all the slogans, I find Easy Does It to be the most applicable when I am frustrated and confused. It helps me to stop forcing a situation and wait until I have a more gentle attitude. When I relax, my vision clears and a solution appears.

“It is not always easy to know which program tool might apply, especially in the midst of a crisis. I am grateful for a Higher Power who knows my needs and for meetings that help me to find new ways to put these tools to work in my life.”

When the solution is simple, God is answering.  Albert Einstein

  2. I also love how apropos Einstein is to many program principles! I believe it was he who said, "Coincidence is God's way of being anonymous." Thanks for stopping by, Pammie.
