April 5th's ODAT catalyzed these questions for me and they are so timeless that they are as valid for me to day as they were when I first read them:
Why do we use the Twelve Steps, anyways? Are they just for recovery?
Or maybe, like it has been said in Al-anon, they are a "shortcut to God."
Do you notice yourself that when you use the twelve steps as a staircase to God, humbly and consciously, that you rediscover "God-given abilities that [you've] allowed to lie dormant?"
I think that the steps are important for me in every aspect of my life. I am so grateful for them and the traditions that help me in my relationship to others.
